A Real Butt Kicker!

Our last item on our "To Do" list before leaving New England was to hike Mt. Washington one last time. I've only done it one other time, however, Doug has done it multiple times (including several early morning hikes to reach summit for sunrise). So, anyways, we chose the best weather looking day and headed first to VT to visit my parent's new barn and them, of course :) and then to Mt. Washington (the next day) to hike.

We huffed and puffed our way up on the Lion's Head trail and then jostled ourselves down Tuckerman's Ravine. It was a grand day - gorgeous weather and good powerade at the top! Just to let you know, my body ached for two days afterwards... but it was worth it all!

Here are the pictures to prove it:

The Summit

You can take a ride up the side of the mountain to the summit for a mere $47! I must add that it is a bit disheartening when you have put so much effort into making the climb to reach the top and see the parking lot first thing (because you can drive up too). But on the other hand, it is really cool that people who otherwise would not be able to hike can still see the top.

The Ravine - we went down that slope!

One Note for Doug's sunrise hike.... Too bad for the Fog, sunrise would have been nice to see.
