Pot Roast

>> Wednesday, November 10, 2010

It was a success and tasted wonderful too!

Here's how I put it all together...

2-3 lb roast
7 carrots, cut into bite-sized pieces (I scrubbed them and left them unpeeled - added nutrition!)
4 celery stalks, cut into bite-sized pieces
potatoes (I eye-balled the amount and used a mixture of red, white, and purple bite-sized spuds)
4 garlic cloves, minced (that's all I had)
1/2 onion, cut into wedges (again, it was all I had)
1-2 cups water
1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1-2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp Basil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Put everything into the crock pot, mix well, and cook on low for 8 hours. Enjoy!

*I didn't actually measure anything, so keep in mind everything is estimated (that's what happens when I don't follow a recipe!)

I have a few friends that are convinced their crockpots are heaven-sent gadgets for cooking, but I never got into them. I think I'm changing my mind, though.

this sounds awesome.

Yay! I'd suggest borrowing a crock pot and trying it out before getting one for yourself... Although, I think you'll love it once you start to use it :)
