World Cup: South Africa

>> Friday, June 11, 2010

When I was in Durban last year, tickets went on sale. I remember irrationally thinking of buying a pair, but sadly (and maybe fortunately) I was away in Kruger while they opened ticket sales for a few days. While I would be thrilled to be there during the games, I think the cost of getting there and spending adequate time enjoying the Cup would have been too much for us.

But that won't stop me from celebrating! This is a huge accomplishment for South Africa. It is the first time the World Cup has been hosted by an African nation. South Africa has put so much effort into these games - their stadiums alone boast to be nothing short of awe-inspiring! So, join me in celebrating the World Cup as it begins today!
